Tammie Lynn Hill, 38, died Thursday, October 13, 2016. Services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 15th at Merkel First Baptist Church with Pastor Richard Petree officiating. Burial will be in White Church Cemetery, directed by Starbuck Funeral Home.
Tammie was born January 8, 1978 in Virginia Beach, VA to Brooks and Jody (Barnes) Dean. She attended schools in Albany, Trent, and Merkel and graduated from Merkel High in 1995. She married Austin Hill June 24, 1995 in Merkel. She received a B.B.A. from McMurry University while raising her family. Tammie worked as an accountant for Dunagin Transport and most recently at Taylor Telelphone. Her greatest fulfillment in life was being a wife, mother, and homemaker. She enjoyed crocheting, quilting, cooking, and baking and loved cooking with her family. Tammie was an avid reader and also liked to travel. She was a member of Pioneer Memorial United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Austin Hill; children, Taylor Hill and fiance’ Jared Shelton, Colby Hill, Cutter Hill, and Tanner Jo Hill all of Trent; mother, Jody Hawkins and husband Dub of Merkel; brother, Tory Dean and wife Kelli of Merkel; sisters, Jamie Parsons and husband Dustin of Albany, April Bown and husband John of Dallas, Vera Durham and husband Shaun of Krum; paternal grandfather, James Dean of Merkel; maternal grandmother, Lyn Barnes Duncan of Merkel; in-laws, Richard and Mary Hill of Cisco; sister-in-law, Richa Butler and husband Alan of Belton; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her dad, Brooks Dean; paternal grandmother, Paula Dean; and maternal grandfather, A.D. Barnes.
